Nuclear Medicine Fellowship at University of Toranto, Canada 2013-2015

Scholarship Description: The University of Toronto Residency Program in Nuclear Medicine is part of a six year dual certification program in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Twelve months of Nuclear Medicine training are completed in 2 to 6 month blocks during the PGY 3 -5 years. Twelve months of dedicated Nuclear medicine occur in the PGY 6 year following completion of the certification exam in Radiology. All dual-certified residents in the program presently fulfill the Royal College requirements. In order to meet Royal College requirements, these candidates begin their Nuclear Medicine rotations during the second half of their PGY3 year and add an additional year of Nuclear Medicine following the PGY5 year for a total of a six-year residency.

Scholarship Description: This graduate nursing scholarship was established by Dr. Vera Elizabeth Dewar at the University of Prince Edward Island. Vera Dewar (or Miss Dewar, as she is affectionately known to many former students and colleagues), was raisedon the family farm in Brudenell. After high school, Vera was too young to enter the nursing program, so shetaught Grade 1 – 10 in a one-room school for a couple of years. Then she enrolled at the PEI Hospital Schoolof Nursing, graduating in 1956 and, two years later, she obtained her Diploma in Teaching and Supervision in Schools of Nursing from Dalhousie University. In 1967, Vera obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Dalhousie University.

Government of India funded Postdoctoral Fellowship for students from Canada in India – 2012/2013

1. Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships are for a minimum of three months to a maximum of twelve months. The awards are made for the April 1st, 2012 – March 31st, 2013 period. Fellowships for successful applicants are subject to approval of their research topics/areas by the Indian Consulate or High Commission closest to their city of residence.
